Five athletes from Delta High School and Millard High School were honored at the Mid-Utah Radio Sports Awards Show & Banquet on Jun. 12.
The banquet was held for the athletes, their parents and their head coaches.
The awards are determined by vote consisting of broadcasters, coaches and fans. The fan vote counted as 20 percent of the overall vote while the coach’s vote counted as 40 percent and the Mid-Utah Radio broadcasters vote counted as 40 percent.
Dallin Draper (Sr.) of Delta High was presented with Boys Track and Field Overall Athlete of the Year. Dallin’s accomplishments included: 3A State Champ 100 M, 3A State Champ 400 M (State Record), and 3A State Champ 200 M (State Record.)
Jager Springer (Jr.) of Delta was awarded Boys Soccer Player of the Year. He scored 21 goals for his team this season.
Boys Soccer Defensive Player of the Year went to Tristun Anderson (Sr.) of Delta High. Tristun played goalie for the Rabbits and had six shutouts.
Keatyn Bliss (Sr.) also from Delta High was honored as Girls Soccer Player of the Year. Keatyn’s season consisted of eight shutout games, 159 saves, and .932 goals against per game.
Nathan Despain (Sr.) from Millard High received Boys Swimmer of the Year. Nathan’s accomplishments included: second place in the 200 Yard Breaststroke, sixth place in the 200 Yard Individual Medley, third place in the 200 Yard Medley Relay, and fifth place 400 Yard Freestyle Relay.
The award for Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year went to Audrey Camp a freshman from Millard High. Audrey won 2A fourth place in 19:06.6.
