(News4Utah)- We are one step closer in bringing the Winter Games back to Utah.
Wednesday, Governor Herbert put his signature on a resolution that allows Utah’s Olympic Exploratory Committee to determine if Salt Lake City is “ready, willing, and able” to host the games again in 2030.
“I don’t think there is a better place in the world to host the Olympics than right here in Salt Lake City,” Gov. Herbert said.
Herbert said the state is well positioned to host the games again because the facilities used in the 2002 Winter Games have been maintained.
The committee has until March 31 to decide which city they’ll pitch to the International Olympic Committee for 2030.
