A new scam passing through Utah: Don’t Fall For The Microsoft Scam

If you receive a phone call from Microsoft, something is not right.

A new scam passing through Utah has some giving away their personal information.

After gaining your trust, police say the scammers ask for your username and password or ask you to visit a website to install software that will let them access your computer.

Once that happens they have access to all of your personal information.

In a statement Microsoft said the following:

“Microsoft will never proactively reach out to you to provide unsolicited PC or technical support. Any communication we have with you must be initiated by you.”
